Guarding, watching,talking. Proverbs 6

Looking at this verse I am reminded of all the years I had little children(not just a few years😉). I think of all the steps I had to physically guide for each of my five boys. I'm reminded of the many nights that we had a small child in our bed who was sick and we would just simply watch over them.
The mornings that I explained in detail why the sun doesn't actually come up , but that our earth actually turns itself to the sun. Guiding, watching, talking. I was able to do this for my children because they lived with me. They were close to me.
That is how close God wants us to be with Him. With His teaching. Our Heavenly Father wants to be close enough to us that He has the ability to guide us as we walk about. To comfort us with the knowledge that as we sleep He is watching over us. As we wake we can hear Him talk to us.
The world is waiting to tell us all it wants us to know. We cannot trust the world to speak truth into our lives though.
We must bind God's words to our hearts, tie them around our neck in order to hear them above the clanging bell of this world.
Go to Him today. Ask Him today to show you in His word what He wants you to take with you.
